Saturday sport: Keenan's late try secures Lions victory over Australia

The Lions have recorded a series win over Australia down under.

Despite being second best for much of the game, Hugo Keenan's late try handed the visitors a 29-26 victory in Melbourne.

Dan Sheehan, Huw Jones and Tom Curry also went over for tries to give the Lions a 2-0 win in the series.

Joe Schmidt's Australia have come up short in both games and go into the third game in Sydney playing for pride.

Women's Euros

England forward Lauren James was involved in training this morning ahead of tomorrow's Euro 2025 final.

The Chelsea forward took a knock to her ankle during the Lionesses' semi-final win against Italy on Tuesday - forcing her off.

England take on Spain tomorrow evening in Basel - in a repeat of the 2023 World Cup final.

All-Island Cup

A place in the final of the All Island Cup is up for grabs later.

It's a Dublin derby in the first semi final with Bohemians taking on Shelbourne at 3pm.

Later, Wexford make the long trip to 2 time champions Galway United for a 5pm kick off.

League of Ireland

There's one men's game here at home this evening.

Third placed Bray Wanderers travel to Longford Town.

Kick off is at 7.30pm.

Camogie

It's semi-final day in the All-Ireland Senior Camogie Championship with both games at Kilkenny's Nowlan Park.

The opening last-four tie at three o'clock is a repeat of last year's semi-final where Galway struck three late points to overcome Tipperary.

Tipp are aiming to end a 19-year wait to return to the final, while Galway come into the match on the back of winning their group unbeaten.

Cork continue their bid for three in-a-row by going up against Waterford in an all-Munster clash in the second semi at 5pm.

Golf

Padraig Harrington is top of the leaderboard as he prepares for his third round of the Senior Open.

He'll tee-off from 8-under-par this afternoon at Sunningdale, one clear of the chasing pack.

Thomas Bjorn and Kyung Ju Choi are his nearest challengers on 7 under.

Harrington is back out at 2.50pm Irish time.

Meanwhile, Seamus Power is still in touch with the leaders ahead of round 3 of the 3M Open on the PGA Tour.

The Waterford man sits on 9 under par after yesterday's round of 66 in Minneapolis.

He will tee off his round at 4.55pm. He is 5 shots off the lead which is held by Thorbjorn Olesen on 14 under par.

Elsewhere, Leona Maguire is inside the top 10 at the Women's Scottish Open with day 3 now underway.

The Cavan native has resumed from 6-under-par, in a tie for 11th and six shots off leader Lottie Woad.

Formula 1

Red Bull's Max Verstappen won the Sprint race at the Belgian Grand Prix.

The world champion secured the victory after overtaking the championship leader Oscar Piastri on the first lap.

This was Laurent Mekies' first race as Red Bull boss after the sacking of Christian Horner earlier this month.

Qualifying for tomorrow's Grand Prix takes place later.
