Arsenal have signed Shamrock Rovers midfielder Victor Ozhianvuna in an Irish record €2 million deal.

The 16-year-old will move to north London in January 2027. Brexit law prohibits an Irish player from joining a UK club until they turn 18.

The Ireland U17 international has made a few senior appearances for Rovers, but his obvious talent has attracted a numnber of top clubs.

He is likely to feature more prominently in the League of Ireland before he makes the Premier League jump in 2027.

The previous Irish record was set by Arsenal's rivals Tottenham, with the London side paying St Patrick's Athletic €1.9 million for the signing of Mason Melia in February.
