Edenderry boxing club named as national finalist in Lottery Good Causes Awards
St Brigid's Boxing Club in Edenderry received a boost this week after it was named as one of eight finalists from Leinster in the National Lottery Good Causes Awards 2025.
The club will be the Leinster finalist in the Sport category at the awards, which take place in Killashee House Hotel in Naas on October 18.
The total prize fund available on the night of the Good Causes Awards ceremony is €100,000, with each of the seven category winners receiving €10,000 and the overall Good Cause of the Year taking home an additional €25,000.
A special category, ‘Hero of the Year’, will be announced on the awards night, in recognition of outstanding work, and the recipient will receive a prize of €5,000. In addition, St Brigid's Boxing Club and the other 34 national finalists will each be awarded a cheque for €1,500.
The other finalists from Leinster include Tullow Community First Responders in Carlow, and Mullingar EYE & Yo Yo Youth Cafe, by Youth Work Ireland Midlands, in Westmeath.

Returning as MC for this year's awards, broadcaster Marty Whelan said: "Every year, I'm blown away by the heartwarming stories and tireless dedication behind our Good Causes.
