'Art for the Soul' to open in Esker Arts this evening
An exhibition of paintings by the students of a leading Offaly artist will be launched in Esker Arts Centre this evening, and will feature on a charity calendar which will also be launched at the event.
'Art for the Soul' will be launched in the foyer of the Esker Arts Centre on Tullamore's High Street at 7pm this evening (Wednesday, November 12) and will run until December 18. It will feature a selection of paintings and drawings by Claire Guinan's art students, and also the launch of the group's charity calendar.
All proceeds from the sale of the calendar, which has been kindly sponsored by an anonymous donor, will be donated directly to Accessible Counselling Tullamore (ACT) to help fund their work in providing timely and affordable counselling services to people across the Midlands.
The calendar will be on sale at the launch of the 'Art for the Soul' exhibition, in local shops and also in the Bridge Centre this Saturday, November 15.
As part of her wider body of work as an artist, Claire Guinan has painted a collection of portraits of such musical luminaries as Phil Lynott; Christy Dignam; Imelda May; Gavin James; John Sheehan and Tullamore - born musician, Donal Lunny.
She has also painted a portrait of another exceptional local musical talent, Tolu Makay, which will feature in the upcoming Offaly Artists Show 2025, which will be launched in Esker Arts Centre at 3pm this Saturday, November 15.
