GAA: Big wins for Cork and Mayo

All-Ireland football champions Kerry have kicked off the defence of their National League Division 1 title with a win this afternoon.

Roscommon made them work for it with the Kingdom coming out on top by 2-18 to 1-20.

Monaghan fell to a 1-27 to 0-18 loss to Armagh while Andy Moran's reign as Mayo boss is underway with a 3-18 to 2-18 win over Galway.

In Division 2, Cork bested Cavan by 0-24 to 2-17 while Louth got the better of Offaly by 1-21 to 0-19.

The Cork hurlers have impressed under new boss Ben O'Connor this afternoon.

They smashed Waterford 3-25 to 1-17 in their first game of the National Hurling League Division 1A.

Declan Dalton, William Buckley and Alan Connolly scored the Rebel goals.

Kilkenny opened their campaign with a win.

The Cats beat Offaly by 0-20 to 0-16 at Nowlan Park.

Clare came from behind to beat Dublin by 3-18 to 1-22 in Division 1B.
