Croghan woman is volunteer of the month

A well-known Croghan volunteer has been selected as Offaly County Council’s Community & Culture March Volunteer of the Month.

Shiela Foy, from Croghan, Rhode, has been volunteering in some capacity for many years, particularly with GAA clubs including her local club St. Brigid’s.

She has also been associated with Special Olympics Ireland since early 2000s, joining Tullamore Special Olympics in 2008.

Tullamore Special Olympics’ reach extends to North Offaly athletes and volunteers.

Shiela has a passion for the Special Olympics organisation and the athletes and has helped to change the lives of people in her community and throughout the country.

She advocates strongly for an increase in athlete participation and volunteerism.
