Offaly TD to take on 'Battle Cancer' fundraising fitness challenge at RDS
Offaly TD Tony McCormack is among a group of Fianna Fáil representatives from across Ireland who are planning to take on the Battle Cancer fitness challenge at the RDS tomorrow (Saturday) to raise vital funds for Irish cancer charities.
The Tullamore TD, along with Albert Dolan TD, Malcolm Byrne TD, and a number of Fianna Fáil councillors and members, is set to join over 4,000 participants from across the country in one of Ireland’s largest cancer fundraising events.
The event will see teams compete in a 90-minute fitness challenge combining strength, endurance and teamwork, with up to €1 million expected to be raised in support of cancer charities.
Participants range in age from 8 to 80, reflecting the breadth of Ireland’s fitness community.
Taking place on Daffodil Day weekend, the event highlights the scale of public support for those affected by cancer and the importance of continued investment in cancer services, research and prevention.
