Achievements of 12 Offaly schools recognised as part of Green Schools Programme

The achievements of 12 Offaly schools have been recognised recently as part of Green Schools Programme.

The Green Schools Programme, an environmental education initiative for primary and secondary schools, celebrated the schools at an awards ceremony held on Thursday, May 21 in Athlone.

Geashill National School.

One school, Roscomroe NS, received its Green Flag for the first time under the theme of Litter and Waste, while the remaining 11 schools were recognised for successfully renewing their Green Flags.

The 11 schools that renewed their flags included Schinchill National School, Killeigh; St. Kierans, Broghal Kilcormac; Seir Kierans Clareen; Sacred Heart School, Tullamore; Ard Scoil Chiara Naofa, Clara; St. Peter and St. Pauls NS, Horseleap; Scoil Na Croise Naofa, Geashill; Scoil Phroinsias Naofa, Clara; St. Josephs NS. Tullamore; Scoil Mhuire, Tullamore; and St. Cronans Lusmagh.
