Tullamore Harriers to host legacy lap in honour of former member
Tullamore Harriers are encouraging club members to participate in the Peter English 625 legacy lap at the club grounds on Tuesday evening.
The Peter English 625 is a special one-lap (625 metres) race around the tarmacadam circuit on the Tullamore Harriers club grounds.
The annual event is held in memory of the former club member, who passed away in 1991 at the young age of 26.
Peter served as club secretary and left a lasting legacy through his commitment and service.
The first edition of the race was held in 1992, and over nearly three decades, this event has become a permanent fixture on the club's calendar, offering many memorable races and a great opportunity to remember Peter.
"We encourage as many members as possible to come out, take part, and support this unique and meaningful event," the club said in a social media post.
Juvenile races start at 7pm followed by the senior races, with trophies and medals presented by the English family afterwards.
