Cheque of over €36,000 from Bog Walk event presented at Pullough school

An Offaly national school ended the 2025/26 academic year on a high with the presentation of more than €35,000 raised from a successful 'Bog Walk' fundraiser held at the end of May.

The parents association at St Mary's NS in Pullough helped organise the Bog Walk which generated a hugely impressive sum of €36,438.

The school thanked everyone who walked, ran, donated, provided sponsorship, supported the event or volunteered on the day and also expressed its gratitude to the committee for organising it.

The funds raised "will support significant improvements to learning resources, outdoor facilities, and student wellbeing initiatives for the current and future pupils" of St Mary's NS, Pullough.

St Mary’s NS has just completed its 90th academic year, having opened in 1935.

The Bog Walk, a 25km walk divided into three stages, was held on Sunday, May 31, in the local boglands between Pullough and Lough Boora Discovery Park.
