Danish male choir to perform at John Lee's in Tullamore
An evening of song, laughter, and Scandinavian tradition is brewing in the beer garden at John Lee’s Bar & Venue, Tullamore, which will host a performance by Danish male choir Rød Aalboys on July 15.
Known for their powerful harmonies and lively performances, Rød Aalboys will bring a unique blend of Nordic folk songs, as well as traditional and modern Irish favourites with a hint of Scandinavia.
The group's Irish song repertoire includes The Rocky Road to Dublin, Fields of Athenry, the Parting Glass and Danny Boy, whereas the Danish songs are best familiarised on the spot.
The choir has a strong focus on audience engagement and community singing. The boys create an atmosphere that is both entertaining and welcoming, as well as educating others on Nordic tunes.
As part of their summer tour of Ireland, the choir is delighted to visit Tullamore before performing at Galway Arts Festival and Kylemore Abbey.
The Rød Aalboys will share a taste of Danish singing culture with local audiences on Wednesday, July 15, at 8pm at John Lee's Bar and Venue, Church St, Tullamore.
Entry to the event is free.
