Tullamore school hosts inaugural Scór na bPáistí Offaly competition
Pupils from primary schools across Offaly came together in Gaelscoil an Eiscir Riada Tullamore for the inaugural hosting of the county's Scór na bPáistí.
Scór na bPáistí is a cultural talent and variety competition run by the GAA specifically for primary and national school children.
Established in 1969, it promotes traditional Irish pastimes, including Irish dancing, singing, music, storytelling, and stage performance
Organised by Offaly GAA's Cultural Officer Niamh Clarke, the pupils provided outstanding performances across a variety of disciplines.
The audience was treated to wonderful entertainment including figure dancing, solo singing, storytelling and ballad groups.
The winners of each cultural discipline were figure dancing - Gaelscoil na Laochra; solo singing - St Philomena's; storytelling - St Philomena's; ballad group - Gaelscoil an Eiscir Riada; instrumental music - Cloneygowan.
The winners were presented with their medals by the adjudicator on the day, Sarah Cooke, who has won numerous county, provincial and national titles in figure dancing for Birr GAA.
Offaly schools will be notified at the start of the next academic year about the 2026/27 competition.
