Water supply returning to homes and businesses across Birr

Uisce Éireann has advised customers in Emmet Street, Burke's Hill, Sandymount, Pound Street, Glebe Street, Birr town and surrounding areas that water supply is now returning to homes and businesses across the area.

Uisce Éireann crews had been working from this morning to repair a burst watermain in Birr and restore water supply to customers. To ensure the safety of the crews carrying out the repairs to the burst and the safety of the public, traffic management has been in place.

James Joyce, Water Operations Manager with Uisce Éireann, said: "We understand the disruption that this outage has caused, and we would like to thank the Birr community for its patience and co-operation. Water supply is now returning across the area."

Typically, customers will see supplies restored within two to three hours. However, some customers, particularly those living at the end of the network or on higher ground, may experience a longer wait while the system fully recharges.
