Ferbane scouts seeking new volunteers

The Ferbane Scout Group is appealing to adults in the area to get involved in the movement to enhance the service it offers to children in the town and its surrounding areas.

No previous experience is required for adults looking to get involved and training will be provided, Ferbane Scout Group said in a social media post.

'We're looking for new volunteers to join our amazing team and help support young people in our community and surrounding areas. By volunteering, people can help young people in many ways including building confidence and resilience, developing leadership and teamwork skills, and learning practical life skills to carry for life,' the scout group said.

The group added that the scout movement also helps young people to spend less time on screens and more time exploring the outdoors, as well as discovering a love and respect for nature and the environment, and making lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories.

'You don't need to have been a Scout before - just bring enthusiasm, a willingness to help, and a sense of adventure', the Ferbane scouts said.
