Spice Girl Mel C has married Australian model Chris Dingwall wearing a custom look designed by bandmate Victoria Beckham.
Sporty Spice, real name Melanie Chisholm, tied the knot in the Lake District on Saturday wearing a custom Victoria Beckham ivory lace silk slip dress.
Dingwall, who wore a black tuxedo, proposed to Chisolm while the pair were on holiday in Mallorca in July 2025.
She said although she did not see it coming, or ever plan to have a big wedding, when he proposed she felt it was “right”.
The 52-year-old told British Vogue, which had exclusive access to the wedding day: “I’ve had this awakening in my 50s – I’m very comfortable in my skin.
“I thought, you know what, this is a part of my story. When you’re my age you’re like… I actually want to experience all of the things.”
Three of her Spice Girls bandmates – Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell – attended the wedding.
Beckham said of the dress design: “Melanie is quite minimalist and didn’t want anything too fussy, conceptual or overly complicated – this is all very aligned with what I do.”
The UK celebration came after the couple had a legal ceremony in Sydney where Mel C’s “something borrowed” came from Posh Spice’s own wardrobe – which inspired the dress for the big day.
Chisolm added: “Victoria was so excited about being able to do this for me, and having her and (daughter) Scarlett there every step of the way has been very special. Plus, I just love her clothes.”
Speaking about Dingwall, she added: “The spark was immediate.
“I was 49 when I met Chris and I was in a really good place. We had a date in Australia, and it’s been difficult to separate us ever since.”
She said Dingwall “fits perfectly” with her and Scarlett and has been “a beautiful addition” to their lives.
She added: “I’m a single mum. My daughter is 17, and we’re pretty resilient the two of us, we’re a team. For anybody coming into our world… it was going to be tough, and he just fits perfectly. It’s a beautiful dynamic.”
Mel C was 20 when the Spice Girls were formed in 1994 with the group rocketing to fame after the release of Wannabe.
She has since launched her solo career and recently released her ninth album, Sweat.
