Edenderry station remains closed as two Gardai are released from hospital
An Garda Síochána said this afternoon (Thursday) that Edenderry Garda Station remains closed in the aftermath of an incident which resulted in two officers being hospitalised after handling suspected cannabis vapes.
A spokesperson for the force said the two male Gardai have both now been released from hospital after they were brought in for medical assessment having become unwell yesterday.
"An Garda Síochána continues to make enquiries into the circumstances of the incident during which two members were hospitalised after becoming unwell whilst on duty on Wednesday at Edenderry Garda station," a Garda statement said
It added that the force was continuing to "provide welfare support to the the members and their families," and that Edenderry Garda Station remained closed at present.
"No further information is available at this time," this afternoon's statement concluded.
