Edenderry Garda Station reopens

Edenderry Garda Station has reopened this morning after a deep clean operations.

The procedure followed an incident during which two members were hospitalised after becoming unwell whilst on duty on Wednesday.

Gardai said they are continuing to make enquiries into the circumstances of the incident.

The two male Gardai were involved in handling suspected cannabis vape products seized from a commercial premises during an ongoing investigation.

Both members of An Garda Síochána have since been released from hospital.

Gardai said this morning that a further examination and specialist deep cleaning of Edenderry Garda Station has been completed, and it reopened at 7am this morning.

The Garda statement said it continues to provide welfare support to the members as they recuperate, and to their families.
