Former Killeigh stars receive Ireland international caps

Two talented Offaly soccer players has officially received their international caps from the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) after representing the country at Under-17 level throughout 2026.

Emma Mooney and Leah Stack received the honours at an event hosted by the FAI to acknowledge its underage players.

Emma is currently part of the Athlone Town FC senior squad while Leah – herself formerly of Athlone – now plays with Bohemians FC.

Both young players came started their soccer journeys with Killeigh Football Club, who has acknowledged the girls receiving their caps.

'This is a fantastic achievement and testament to the dedication, hard work and commitment both players have shown. We are incredibly proud to see Emma and Leah continue to excel on the international stage and represent Ireland with such distinction. Everyone at the club sends our warmest congratulations and wishes both every success for the future', Killeigh FC said.

Emma's younger sister, Isabel, is also on the books of Athlone Town, where many Offaly players has prospered in recent years, and in July, they came up against Leah as Athlone Town hosted Bohemians in the Women's Under-17 FAI Cup at Athlone Town Stadium.
