Brosna River Literary and Music Festival returns to Clara
The Clara Heritage Society has announced the return of the Brosna River Literary and Music Festival this month.
Taking place on Saturday, August 22, from 4.30pm to 6.30pm, at The Old Bank on Church Street, the festival will celebrate the rich connection between the River Brosna, its communities, literature and music.
A special highlight of the event will be The Brosna Suite, composed by Carol Nelson.
The afternoon will also feature a children’s puppet show, running simultaneously in the marquee. Children attending the show must be supervised.
As part of the celebration, the Clara Heritage Society is inviting people who live in towns and villages along the Brosna or its tributaries to take part. Local residents are encouraged to share a poem, tell a story or perform a song inspired by the river and its communities. Everyone is welcome to participate.
Those wishing to take part can contact the Clara Heritage Society by email at claraheritagesociety@email.com.
Light refreshments will be served, and admission is free. Booking through Eventbrite is recommended to ensure a seat.
