Minnock finishes second in Battle of Clontarf race

Tullamore Harriers AC was represented by six athletes at the annual Battle of Clontarf 10 Mile race recently.

The race, which incorporated the Athletics Leinster 10 Mile Championships, took place in St. Anne’s Park, Raheny taking in two laps of the park. Traditionally staged on Easter Monday, this year's race was moved to the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Kevin Minnock had a fantastic run to finish second overall in 53.26 - a great reward for his commitment to training. The race was won by Raheny Shamrock AC's Michael Brady in 51:20, with Colm Turner of Brothers Pearse AC taking third place.

Killian Nolan (56.50) was the second Tullamore Harriers athlete home, followed by Jonathan Dunne (58.05), who won the M45 age category. Their performances, together with Kevin Minnock's, also secured the Leinster senior men's team silver medals.

Mary Galvin (1.23.24) earned herself a super Leinster medal with second place in her age group.

Naomi Galvin (1.28.23) and Rita Daly Ravenhill (1.28.27) also proudly represented the blue and white of Tullamore Harriers, producing strong performances on the day.
