The cast of 'Dear Evan Hansen' take a break from rehearsals ahead of their four night run in Esker Arts Tullamore in September

Countdown continues for Clara Musical Society's September show

Rehearsals are in the final stages for Clara Musical Society's forthcoming production of 'Dear Evan Hansen' in Esker Arts Tullamore from September 19-22.

'Dear Evan Hansen' tells the story of a socially anxious teenager searching for connection and acceptance in an increasingly complex world.

Featuring a stunning score and deeply emotional storytelling, the show has captivated audiences around the globe since its debut.

What makes 'Dear Evan Hansen' particularly important in today's society is the way it addresses themes that resonate strongly with modern audiences.

The musical explores loneliness, loss, grief and the universal desire to belong. It also examines the influence of the internet and social media on people's lives, highlighting both their power to connect individuals and the potential consequences when online narratives take on a life of their own.

In a world where many people, particularly young people, can feel isolated despite being more digitally connected than ever before, the show's message is especially relevant. It encourages important conversations about mental health, empathy, family relationships and the importance of genuine human connection.

Clara Musical Society is proud to bring this moving and award-winning production to audiences in the Midlands. With a talented local cast from across Offaly and Westmeath, a dedicated creative team and months of preparation behind them, the Society is looking forward to sharing this remarkable story with theatre-goers from across the region.

Dear Evan Hansen runs at the Esker Arts Centre, Tullamore, from September 19-22.
