Welly Throwing returns to the Ploughing

Now in its 13th year, the event has become a crowd favourite and a key fundraising initiative for various charities.

This year marks the fourth consecutive year that the event will support SOSAD (Save Our Sons and Daughters), a charity dedicated to raising awareness around suicide and providing vital mental health support services.

SOSAD offers free counselling and assistance for individuals dealing with suicidal ideation, self-harm, depression, anxiety, grief and emotional distress.

With donations significantly down this year, every contribution made at the Welly Throw will help SOSAD continue to provide free, life-saving support in our communities.

Portwest Ireland is joined by AgriShield and Dunlop as sponsors of the Annual Welly Throwing Competition. Together, they invite visitors to stop by and take part in this fun and meaningful challenge.

Over the years, this event has raised over €50,000 and this year promises to be even bigger, drawing thousands of attendees, including familiar faces from the Irish celebrity scene, all coming together to throw a welly for a great cause.
