Profile of a Parkrunner: Meet Margaret

Meet Margaret Bennett from Bracknagh who has completed a phenomenal 180 parkruns, all at Mountlucas parkrun. She is also a regular volunteer at the event.

When did you first complete a parkrun?

My first parkrun was on February 17, 2018. I’m delighted I started participating in the parkrun. It’s always a great experience.

What is your favourite thing about parkrun?

My favourite thing about the parkrun is the atmosphere in Mountlucas. It's an atmosphere that is warm and welcoming. You’ll never regret a parkrun in Mountlucas.

How does it feel to have completed 180 parkruns?

It feels wonderful however I am in awe of all the parkrunners in Mountlucas who have 250 and even 300 done. I’ve a bit more to do to achieve those significant milestone moments but look forward to doing so!

What is your favourite parkrun memory?

My favourite parkrun memory was earlier this year when my sister Catherine reached her 250th parkrun. My daughters Annie and Sarah joined us that morning.

What words would you use to describe Mountlucas parkrun?

The words I would use to describe Mountlucas parkrun are positivity and joy. Everyone is encouraging and positive. It sparks a little bit of joy every Saturday morning.

Mountlucas parkrun takes place at Bord na Móna Mountlucas windfarm every Saturday morning at 9.30am sharp. There's something for everyone at Mountlucas parkrun whether you want to walk, run, volunteer or just meet new people.
