Local B&B wins top Irish hospitality award

The Harbour Masters House, which overlooks the Grand Canal in Shannon Harbour, has received a leading accolade for its ongoing excellence.

The Offaly bed and breakfast has been awarded 'B&B of the Year' in the 'Small Stay Category' at Georgina Campbell's 2026 Irish Food & Hospitality Awards.

Now in their fourth decade, these are the longest-running awards of their kind in Ireland, and the winners were announced at a gala lunch at the InterContinental Dublin Hotel. The awards recognise excellence across the country, with winners selected through independent, year-round assessments by a team of experts who book anonymously and pay their bills like any other guest.

In an online post, The Harbour Masters House said it was 'absolutely thrilled' to take the award, describing the occasion in Dublin as 'amazing to celebrate with friends and colleagues'.

'As the longest-running independent hospitality awards in Ireland, Georgina Campbell's guides are famous for their strict, completely anonymous inspections. To be recognised alongside the absolute best in Irish hospitality means the world to us', Harbour Masters House said.

They also thanked all the guests and local businesses and neighbours who support them.
