Midlands musicians achieve diploma honours with London Victoria College of Music

Two Midlands musicians from the Academy of Music Tullamore have recently achieved Honours in diploma examinations with the London Victoria College of Music.

Charlotte Mathews, aged 18, from Killeigh, Co. Offaly, a student at Killina Presentation Secondary School, has successfully completed her Associate Teaching Diploma in Piano with Honours (AVCM T.D. Hons). Charlotte has studied piano at the Academy under the guidance of Martina Burgoyne.

Also celebrating is Katie Creggy, aged 18, from Moate, a student at Moate Community College, who has been awarded her Diploma in Voice/Singing Performance with Honours (AVCM Hons). Katie has studied singing and vocal performance with Ciarán Brady, Vocal Coach at the Academy of Music.

Both students have demonstrated considerable dedication to their musical studies in achieving their diploma qualifications, which represent an advanced level of musical performance and musicianship.

For Charlotte, the achievement marks an important step in her development as both a pianist and emerging teacher, having completed the Associate Teaching Diploma.

Katie’s Honours in Voice/Singing Performance recognises her high standard of vocal performance and musical preparation.

The Academy of Music, Tullamore, has a long-established tradition of supporting young musicians as they progress from their earliest musical studies through to advanced performance and diploma level.

Established in 2007, the Academy has provided music education to generations of students from Tullamore, Offaly, Westmeath and the wider Midlands.

Academy staff and teachers congratulate Charlotte and Katie on their achievements and praised the commitment and hard work they have shown throughout their studies.

The Academy continues to provide tuition across a wide range of instruments and disciplines, helping students to develop their musical skills and pursue further opportunities in performance, teaching and music education.
