Funeral details confirmed for father and daughter killed in Banagher tragedy

Funeral details for the father and daughter who were killed in a tragic workplace incident at Banagher Precast Concrete on Monday morning have been confirmed.

Mihai Chinez (49) and his daughter Denisa Mihaela Chinez (24) will repose at Banagher Community Centre this evening (Wednesday) from 5pm to 7pm.

Their Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday morning at 11am in St. Rynagh’s Church, Banagher.

Following the Funeral Mass, Denisa will be laid to rest in St. Rynagh’s Cemetery. Mihai’s cremation will take place at a later date.

Their Funeral Mass from St. Rynagh’s Parish Church will be broadcast online and on Church Radio 106.6 FM.

The RIP.ie death notice said that both Mihai and Denisa Mihaela will be sadly missed and deeply regretted by Mihai’s wife and Denisa’s mother, Angela; Mihai's daughter and Denisa’s sister, Lavinia Alexandra; Denisa’s fiancé, Liviu Blaj; their extended family, neighbours, many friends and work colleagues.

The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) is continuing to investigate the fatal incident which the company described as a "devastating tragedy".

A statement issued by Banagher Precast Concrete in the aftermath of the tragedy said the company's "immediate priority" is supporting the families of our colleagues and ensuring they "receive every assistance and support available during this unimaginably difficult time".
