Elderly householder faces ongoing Edenderry water problems

Edenderry councillor Fergus McDonnell has criticised the lack of a normal water supply in the Clonmullen area of Edenderry.

The Independent Ireland councillor said he has engaged with Uisce Éireann on behalf of an elderly householder over a reduced water pressure and at times the lack of supply.

Cllr McDonnell said the family of the householder tell him the problem predates the creation of Uisce Éireann.

"When you consider Uisce Éireann was created in 2013, it is unbelievable this elderly person still doesn’t have a normal water supply in 2026.!

He said he understands that Uisce Éireann has yet to decide where to site an additional pump and criticised what he said was the length of time involved in providing "a normal water supply" to this person.

He said he is committed to continue to pressurise Uisce Éireann to urgently solve the water pressure problem in Clonmullen, Edenderry without delay.
