Offaly woman launches new cancer support app
A Tullamore woman has launched a new mobile phone app to connect people affected by cancers.
Vanessa Mooney has launched 'Someone Like Me', a new app that is the result of an idea borne out of her own experience of being diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 40, and seeing first-hand how valuable it can be to connect with someone who has faced a similar journey.
That experience led her to thinking if technology can make it easier for people affected by cancer to find someone who understands.
The result is 'Someone Like Me', a new and free to use digital community for people who are newly diagnosed, living with cancer, in remission or supporting someone they love.
She has made the app free to use, helping make support and connection accessible to as many people as possible.
'Someone Like Me' is now available through the App Store and Google Play.
