New partnership launched between Setanta and Offaly GAA
Setanta and Offaly GAA have announced a new partnership aimed at strengthening player and coach development across the county’s underage structures.
The partnership will see Setanta deliver a structured athletic development programme throughout Offaly GAA’s underage pathway, providing support in areas including maturation assessment and profiling, digital programming, player education and ongoing guidance for coaches and team management.
The programme will place a particular focus on the development of players at U17 level, with individualised gym and field-based programmes, load monitoring, injury-risk reduction strategies and return-to-play support forming key elements of the initiative.
The partnership was officially introduced at an information evening in Tullamore this week, which attracted an attendance of more than 300 parents and coaches.
Setanta’s Head of Athletic Development, Rob Mulcahy, outlined the programme and explained how it will support players at different stages of their physical and athletic development.
A key objective of the initiative will be to complement Offaly GAA’s existing coaching structures, ensuring that long-term player development remains at the heart of the programme.
The collaboration represents a significant commitment to supporting the next generation of Offaly GAA players while providing coaches and clubs with additional expertise and resources to help maximise player potential.
Both organisations are looking forward to working together over the coming years to enhance athletic development opportunities for players, coaches and clubs throughout the county.
