Rahan golfer selected for women's high performance panel

Rahan's Ella Cantwell has been included in the Golf Ireland women’s high performance panel for 2027.

The Esker Hills Golf Club member moves directly from the U18 girls to the women’s high performance panel following a season which saw Cantwell crowned the inaugural West of Ireland Women’s Amateur Open champion.

Such was her golfing prowess during the year, Cantwell received an invitation to play at the KPMG Women’s Irish Open at the K Club in August.

Meanwhile, Tullamore's Stuart Grehan, has been included in the Golf Ireland men’s high performance panel for 2027.

Grehan achieved significant individual and team success in the amateur golf ranks this season.

In June, the County Louth Golf Club member claimed the Amateur Championship and also played a pivotal role as the Great Britain & Ireland team won the Walker Cup at Lahinch Golf Club in September.

Grehan will be joined on the men's high performance panel by Midlands based golfer Isaac Oliver.

The Glasson Golf Club member enjoyed a successful 2026 season during which he won the prestigious Fairhaven Trophy, an international junior golf competition, in May.

Golf Ireland High Performance Director Neil Manchip, said the high performance panels feature a strong mix of experienced performers and emerging talent.

“The depth of talent coming through our pathway continues to grow and we’re looking forward to working with this group as they prepare for another busy international season," Manchip stated.
