"Amazing achievements" of KMK sponsorship recipients lauded by company

Tullamore-based metals recycling company, KMK, has spoken of its pride in providing sponsorship to a host of Offaly sports people and clubs over the past year, and has been lauding what they described as the “amazing achievements” of a number of the local sports stars in 2025.

Among those whom the company has provided sponsorship to are:

* Tullamore elite cyclist, Ellen McDermott, who nailed her big goal with a 2nd place finishg at the UCI World Gravel Series ‘The Gralloch’ in brutal heat, plus another podium finish defending her Irish National Gravel title.

* 13-year old up and coming karting champion, Arthur Wellington, from Mountbolus, who stepped up to the next level and finished 2nd overall in the Leinster Karting Championships.

* Paris 2024 Olympian Gráinne Walsh who brought home bronze from the World Boxing Championships last September, with that massive win over Olympic silver medallist, Yang Liu, being described as “the biggest win of her career to date.” Then she started 2026 by winning the Irish National Elite title.

KMK said 2025 marked out the Tullamore boxer as a “world-level contender” and said they are proud to continue sponsorship for “this local hero for 2026.”

* Cappincur GAA made it to the Senior B semi-final and won the Offaly Club Jersey World Cup 2025. KMK are long-term sponsors of this local team and described 2025 as “a proud year of on-field progress and community success” for the popular GAA Club.

Among the many other local teams that KMK Metals Recycling provided sponsorship to in 2025 were Shamrocks GAA; Tullamore Rugby Club; Tullamore Ladies Football; Tullamore Inclusive Tag Rugby and Kilbeggan Shamrocks with sponsorship consisting of scoreboards, kit bags, clubhouse upgrades.

Other sponsorship provided by the Cappincur company included a new mural for Scoil Chartaigh Naofa in Rahan in 2025, annual support of the Tullamore Lions Club, GOAL Jersey Day and Offaly Goes Green. So far this year KMK Metals Recycling has made a cash donation to Kilbeggan Players Drama Society for its upcoming production. The company has also pledged to support both Tullamore and Kilbeggan Tidy Towns committees. KMK Metals Recycling will also be the title sponsor the Environmental Innovation category at the Tullamore Chamber Awards, having won the Sustainability Award in 2023.
