Funding of €11,400 has been allocated to Tullamore Show.

Tullamore Show receives maximum grant from nationwide fund

Tullamore Show has received €11,400 in funding as part of a nationwide allocation of over €1 million to support 126 Agricultural Shows across the country.

Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary made the announcement yesterday (Saturday).

Each show receives a grant of between €4,200 and €11,400 depending on its size.

Welcoming the funding. Fine Gael Offaly TD John Clendennen said it was the maximum grant available under the funding announcement.

“This funding recognises the vital role that agricultural shows such as the Tullamore Show play in supporting rural communities, showcasing our farming sector, and bringing people together,” Deputy Clendennen said.

“Receiving the maximum grant available is a strong endorsement of the scale and importance of the Tullamore Show, which continues to be a flagship event for Offaly, the Midlands and for Irish agriculture.”

He added that the funding will help organisers continue to deliver a high-quality event that celebrates farming, food, and rural life while supporting local economic activity.

“The work undertaken by the Chair, John Keena and all members of the executive to ensure the show’s success is phenomenal. Last year was a resounding success and I look forward to seeing the Tullamore Show continue in the same fashion this year and into the future,” concluded Clendennen.

This funding will support the work of each of the 126 show committees as they prepare for the upcoming show season.

Minister Calleary made the announcement in Athlone where the Irish Show’s Association (ISA) launched their 2026 Yearbook
