Hollyoaks star James Sutton is among the celebrities who have joined adult content site OnlyFans.
Sutton, 43, who rose to fame as fan-favourite character John Paul McQueen in the Channel 4 soap, described the move as the “natural next step for me”.
Sutton will join the ranks of high-profile stars who have used the platform, including his former Hollyoaks co-star Sarah Jayne Dunn, who left the show in 2021 after a dispute with producers over her account on the site.
Sutton said: “Joining OnlyFans felt like a natural next step for me.
“It gives me the freedom to share more of who I am, beyond the characters I once played, and to connect with those fans that have supported me throughout my career.”
He shared a link to his OnlyFans on Instagram, and his bio on the site reads: “Actor. Writer. Speaker Mindset. Identity. Fitness. Very often undressed. Let’s chat.”
Sutton is said to be using the platform to offer fans a behind-the-scenes insight into his life, ranging from his workout routines to his work as a writer and keynote speaker.
He is best known for his recurring role in Hollyoaks over the past 20 years, and stepped down from the soap opera earlier this year, shifting his focus towards working in fitness and as a motivational speaker.
Sutton is also known for a brief stint in ITV soap Emmerdale as mechanic Ryan Lamb, from 2009 to 2011.
He is the latest in a long line of celebrities who have turned to OnlyFans for income.
American Pie star Shannon Elizabeth said on Thursday that she had created an account on the site which will show “the side of me that doesn’t make it into movies”.
In 2024, singer Lily Allen said she had started uploading photos of her feet to the adult subscription site, but suggested she does not use the website as much any more.
Other celebrities who have used the site include Foundations singer Kate Nash, who previously told MPs she sold pictures of her bottom on the site in order to fund her tour.
Child star Amanda Bynes has also used the site but said she “won’t be posting any sleazy content”, instead using the platform to be able to send direct messages to fans.
Harry Potter actress Jessica Cave joined OnlyFans as a “long hair specialist”.
Her bio says: “I do NICHE HAIR CONTENT which you may well quite like….. I hope it surprises you at the very least.”
