Cannabis jellies and other drugs worth €100k seized in Offaly
Gardai have announced details of a drugs seizure in Edenderry yesterday (Wednesday) involving cannabis, and cannabis-infused jellies and chocolate, with a total estimated value of up to €100,000.
A Garda spokesperson said the seizure arose as a result of enquiries made in the aftermath of €1.2 million worth of cigarettes being seized at a business premises in Offaly on Tuesday of this week.
"Following enquiries by Gardaí, a follow-up search operation was conducted under warrant at two premises in Edenderry on Wednesday," said the spokesperson.
"Local Gardaí were assisted by the Offaly Drugs Unit and Revenue Customs Officers.
"Items seized included a number of cannabis-infused jellies and chocolate, THC and HHC vapes, and suspected cannabis herb."
The Gardai said the estimated value of drugs seized was up to €100,000, pending forensic analysis, and that cash to the value of €4,000 was also seized.
"No arrests have been made at this time," said the Garda spokesperson, who added that investigations were ongoing.
