Offaly native Finn Kelly has been appointed partner in the tax team at leading Irish law firm Mason Hayes & Curran.
Finn, from Drumcullen, attended St. Brendan’s Community School in Birr before studying law at University College Dublin.
He joins the firm as a tax partner, advising Irish and international clients on all aspects of Irish tax, with a primary focus on the financial services sector.
He specialises in advising asset managers, investment funds, financial institutions and aircraft leasing companies on the tax aspects of their business operations in Ireland. This includes establishing and operating Irish investment platforms and the tax treatment of financing transactions.
A solicitor and chartered tax adviser, Finn is a member of the Law Society of Ireland, the Irish Tax Institute and Irish Funds.
“It is an exciting time to join the firm and to be part of the growth in the Tax team," Finn said, following his appointment.
"The expansion of the firm’s Tax team reflects the client-driven demand for specialist tax advice following the introduction of a number of new tax rules over the past decade.”

"Our Tax team has experienced sustained significant growth in recent years, with our clients undertaking increasingly complex domestic and cross-border transactions, and Finn’s appointment further complements our offering.”
Niamh Caffrey, Co-Head of Tax at Mason Hayes & Curran, also welcomed the appointment, saying: “Finn’s appointment is an important addition to our Tax team. He combines technical tax expertise with a deep understanding of the practical and commercial issues impacting clients in the financial services sector.”
