Open casting call for season two of "swords and shields historical saga" TV series

An open casting call is being held for season two of 'Bluetooth', a "sword and shield historical saga" TV series that will film in Wicklow later this summer.

Two open casting calls will be hosted in Wicklow and Dublin, with casting directors looking for a range of people from all ethnic, religious, and heritage backgrounds.

The first casting call will take place from 10am to 5pm on Thursday, July 9, at Parkview Hotel, Main Street, Newtownmountkennedy, Wicklow (Eircode: A63 FX72).

A second casting call will take place from 10am to 5pm on Monday, July 13, and Tuesday, July 14, at Camden Court Hotel, Camden Street Lower, Saint Kevin's, Dublin 2, D02 W086.

"We are looking or thousands of people to apply, and will be employing people from August right through to November, and there will be many exciting scenes to take part in," said the casting team from Bluetooth Productions.

"We are appealing to anyone with an interest in history, TV, film, the filming process, acting or, to those who simply want to experience something different, meet new people, earn a few euro and see some of the most beautiful scenery in the country while doing it."

Open days are open to adults aged 16+. No appointment is required, and applicants only need to attend one of the scheduled casting days, where they will complete an application form, have their photograph taken and go through a process lasting around 20 minutes.

Applicants must be full-time residents of Ireland with a valid work visa and PPS number.

Producers are seeking a wide range of ages, appearances and skills, from tradespeople and athletes to musicians, animal handlers and language speakers, although organisers stress the list is not exhaustive and everyone is encouraged to apply.

Successful applicants may be contacted at short notice for filming or costume fittings, with work available throughout the production period. Parents can also request application forms for children under 16 by contacting the casting team.
