Record entry for BnM Tullamore Harriers half marathon

Record-breaking numbers of entrants have been recorded for the BnM Tullamore Harriers half marathon taking place this August.

Over 1,400 entrants have signed up for the event with all places sold out within weeks of registration opening.

Representatives from Tullamore Harriers and Bord na Móna gathered this week to officially launch the BnM Tullamore Harriers Half Marathon, ahead of this year’s race on Saturday, August 29.

Held annually on the last Saturday of August, the half marathon has become a major fixture on the athletics calendar, offering runners an ideal opportunity to prepare for the Dublin City Marathon and other autumn distance events.

The race will see participants take on a challenging yet rewarding course through the scenic countryside surrounding Tullamore.

The event begins at 10am on Charleville Road, at the junction with Dillon Street, with runners making their way through Mucklagh, along the Ross Road to Ballinacanty Cross, through Killurin, before completing the final stage with a lap of the renowned Tullamore Harriers track.

Since its first staging in 2013, the event has continued to grow in popularity and reputation. Its standing among Ireland’s top distance-running events was further strengthened when it hosted the National Half Marathon Championships in 2023 and again in 2025.

Tullamore Harriers has expressed its appreciation for the ongoing support of Bord na Móna, Offaly County Council, An Garda Síochána, Offaly Civil Defence, event sponsors, local residents and the many volunteers who help ensure the successful running of the race each year.

The club has thanked the public in advance for their patience and cooperation for what promises to be another successful Tullamore Harriers Half Marathon.
