Offaly artists to feature in concert for launch of Friends of Esker Arts initiative

Tullamore's Esker Arts Centre will officially launch its new Friends of Esker Arts initiative with a special gala concert celebrating local talent and community support later this month.

The initiative has been established to encourage audiences, supporters and arts advocates to play an active role in sustaining and developing the artistic and cultural life of the venue into the future.

Since opening, Esker Arts has become a thriving cultural hub for Offaly, hosting a diverse programme of music, theatre, visual arts and community events.

The launch concert will showcase the breadth of artistic talent the venue supports, featuring an impressive line-up of established performers alongside emerging young artists.

Headlining the event is acclaimed singer-songwriter Tolü Makay, whose powerful performances and distinctive interpretations have earned widespread national and international acclaim.

She will be joined by the talented young musicians of Music Generation Offaly Seoda Ceoil Harp, Donlon Dance Company and the Academy Chamber Choir, highlighting the creativity, dedication and achievement of young performers from across the county.

The programme will also include performances by Chris Corroon and Colin Hughes, two of Offaly's best-known and most experienced musical theatre performers.

The Friends of Esker Arts initiative aims to build long-term support for the venue by inviting members of the public to become Friends of Esker Arts.

Membership will help sustain an ambitious artistic programme, create opportunities for emerging artists, expand engagement with schools and community groups, and ensure the arts remain accessible to people of all ages.

Organisers say becoming a Friend is an investment in the cultural future of the community, helping Esker Arts continue to enrich lives, strengthen local connections and provide memorable artistic experiences for generations to come.
