Offaly County Council Launches Community & Voluntary Group Awards 2026

Offaly County Council's Community & Culture Section announced the launch of the Community & Voluntary Group Awards 2026 on Wednesday (July 15). The awards recognise and celebrate the contribution made by community and voluntary groups across County Offaly.

Nominations and applications are now open for the awards. These may be submitted by members of the public, as well as by community and voluntary groups and organisations. Categories for nominations include Community Involvement Award, Culture & Heritage Award, Equality & Social Inclusion Award, Children & Youth Supports Award, Environment & Climate Action Award, Sports Award, Arts & Culture Award, Health & Well Being Award, and Older People Supports Award.

The initiative aims to acknowledge the invaluable work carried out by community and voluntary organisations and the county council encourages community groups, volunteers and residents to participate in the awards programme to acknowledge the exceptional work taking place in towns, villages and communities across Offaly.

The closing date for applications is September 6. Finalists will be selected in each award category and invited to an awards ceremony and dinner in November in Birr. Winners will receive a bursary of €500 for use in their community work.
