Local Gardaí honoured to contribute at key domestic violence conference

Local Gardaí has spoken of its delight at speaking, earlier today, at the 'Breaking the Cycle: Ending Harm Without Stigma' conference at Esker Arts, Tullamore.

The event was organised by Offaly Domestic Violence Support Services and saw representatives of An Garda Siochana Laois-Offaly speak on the subject matter, alongside many other speakers, experts and frontline practitioners.

Among the main topics discussed was the barriers faced by migrant and ethnic minority women experiencing domestic, sexual and gender-based violence, and the importance of ensuring access to safe, inclusive and appropriate supports.

On its social media platforms, An Garda Siochana Laois-Offaly described the occasion as 'a brilliant event with insightful contributions and important discussions throughout the day'.

They praised Offaly Domestic Violence Support Service for organising 'such an important and worthwhile event' and for continuing to raise awareness and promote collaboration in this area.
