Offaly shoebox appeal seeks warehouse ahead of annual collection

Christmas Shoebox Appeal Offaly is appealing to local warehouse owners for help as it struggles to find a secure storage space for shoeboxes ahead of their annual campaign for children in need.

The appeal group has said it is having difficulty securing a warehouse in Tullamore or the surrounding area to store the shoeboxes before they are collected in the coming weeks.

In a recent appeal, the organisers said they rely on the generosity of local property owners each year to provide temporary storage for the donated shoeboxes.

However, with the collection period fast approaching, the group has yet to find a suitable premises.

The organisers are seeking the use of a large, secure warehouse for a maximum of five weeks from the beginning of November.

They have also reassured potential landlords that the campaign has its own insurance and that no landlord will lose their rates rebate during the period the warehouse is occupied, as Team Hope is a registered charity.

The group is now urging anyone who owns a suitable warehouse, or who knows someone who might be able to help, to get in touch.

Anyone who can offer a suitable warehouse is asked to contact Christmas Shoebox Appeal Offaly through its social media page.
