Offaly's tourism offering praised after tour of local sites
Offaly County Councillor, and Chairperson of Offaly Tourism, Eleanor Clendennen, said a Business Familiarisation trip to a range of local attractions last week highlighted the fantastic range of tourism businesses and experiences on offer across the county.
The trip included visits to a number of local businesses and attractions, including The Old Coach House in Tullamore, Sloe Blossom Farm, Croghan Hill Glamping, Mount Briscoe Organic Farm, Lough Boora and Kinnitty Village and Castle.
Speaking afterwards, Cllr Clendennen said: "It was an excellent day and a great opportunity to see firsthand some of the fantastic tourism offerings we have right here in Offaly.
"I was delighted to see the quality and variety of experiences available across our county. From beautiful accommodation and outdoor activities to local food, heritage and crafts, Offaly really has so much to offer.
"It was also great to see the positive impact of the EU Just Transition Fund. This funding is making a real difference in Offaly, supporting local businesses, developing our tourism offering and creating new opportunities for communities across the county.
"What stood out to me most was the passion and hard work of the people behind these businesses. We have so much to be proud of in Offaly, and I believe there is huge potential to continue growing tourism and attracting more visitors to our county," Cllr Clendennen added.
"A sincere thank you to everyone who welcomed us throughout the day and to those who organised such a worthwhile and enjoyable trip."
