Tullamore athlete Ava chosen for European U23 Athletics Championships

Tullamore athlete Ava O'Connor has been named in the Ireland squad for the upcoming European U23 Athletics Championships.

The local athlete will compete in the European U23 Championships in Bergen, Norway from July 17 to 20.

Ava will line out in the 3000m Steeplechase and the 5000m.

Originally from Emo in Co. Laois, Ava has run for Tullamore Harriers AC for a number of years, winning several honours while representing the club.

A former student of Scoil Chriost Rí, Portlaoise, Ava embarked on a scholarship with Adams State University in Colorado a few years ago.
