Sister of murder victim Clodagh Hawe donates speaking fee to Offaly domestic violence service
Jacqueline Connolly, the sister of Clodagh Hawe, who was murdered along with her three sons in 2016, has made a €400 donation to the Offaly Domestic Violence Support Service (ODVSS).
The Tullamore-based service shared news of the donation, saying the money was the speaking fee which had been offered to Jacqueline for her appearance at the Hinterland Festival in Kells last month.
"A big thank you to Jacqueline Connolly for donating her guest speaking fee of €400 at the recent Hinterland Festival in Kells to Offaly Domestic Violence Support Services, which will go towards running our children’s summer camp week in August.
"We are so thankful for this support," stated the ODVSS.
Jacqueline replied: "Thank you for everything you do for victims. More than happy to donate to make children happy."
Jacqueline's sister Clodagh was murdered, along with sons, Liam (13), Niall (11), and Ryan (6), by Alan Hawe, who then took his own life, in Cavan in August 2016.
Anne Clarke, the chief executive of Offaly Domestic Violence Support Service, recently contributed a chapter to the book 'Deadly Silence' which was written by Jacqueline Connolly and detailed the search for the truth behind the brutal murders of Clodagh and her three sons.
The chapter of the book written by Anne Clarke outlined the signs and impact of coercive control on victims of domestic violence.
