Man (40s) dies after collision involving two vans and a crane in Co Offaly

A man has died after a collision between two vans and a crane near Edenderry, Co. Offaly, on Wednesday morning.
The collision involving a crane and two vans occurred on the R401 at Drumcooly at approximately 6:15 am.
The driver of one of the vans, a man in his 40s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the other van, a man in his 30s, was brought to Midland Regional Hospital at Tullamore for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The road is closed pending examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.
The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has been notified and will conduct its own investigation.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 6:00am and 6:30am on Wednesday morning, 27th August, are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
