Kinnitty resident steps away from role as Offaly Camogie PRO
After five years on the Offaly Camogie executive, Alan Harris stepped down as its PRO late last month.
The Bracknagh native, who lives in Kinnitty, is now taking up a new role as provincial PRO for Leinster Camogie.
In a statement which he posted on social media this week, he said he decided to step away from the Offaly Camogie PRO role "for a number of reasons" but that he hoped to continue attending the games with his camera.
"It's been a privilege to photograph the Offaly team throughout those five years," he wrote, saying there had been various "highs and lows" during that time.
"Needless to say, the high of seeing the girls win the All Ireland final in Croke Park in August was one hell of a way to finish up.
"Thank you to the girls for their patience over the years and to everyone that helped me as Offaly PRO," he added.
"That being said, I will hopefully continue to attend the games with the camera but obviously not as Offaly PRO... although you may find me with a Leinster Camogie top on me now that I've taken on the provincial PRO role."
Offaly memorably secured the All Ireland intermediate title by defeating Kerry in Croke Park on August 11.
David Sullivan subsequently stood down as the team's manager, with Jack Maher named as his successor earlier this week.
