Hospital overcrowding: Over 520 patients on trolleys

521 patients are without a bed in hospitals across the country, according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO).

360 patients are waiting in the emergency department, while 161 are in wards elsewhere in hospitals.

The hospital with the highest number of people without a bed is University Hospital Limerick, with 91 patients on trolleys.

45 patients are in the emergency department, with 46 people elsewhere in the hospital.

At Cork University Hospital, 51 people are waiting for a bed, with 47 in the emergency department.

In University Hospital Galway, 46 patients are waiting for a bed, with 36 in the emergency department.
