Urgent casting call for male part in Tullamore panto
Tullamore Panto has put out an urgent casting call for a male part in their upcoming production of 'Jack and the Beanstalk' which opens in the Esker Arts Centre on Saturday, November 29 next.
With rehearsals in full swing for what has become a much-anticipated outing for families of all ages in the run-up to Christmas, the production team for this year's Tullamore panto is urgently seeking a male actor to play a role between the ages of 40 and 60 years. Good acting ability is required and expenses can be covered if travelling.
The show dates for 'Jack and the Beanstalk are from November 29 to December 14, so if you always wanted to be on stage and think you have what it takes to join the talented cast of this year's panto in Tullamore get in touch with Colin Hughes Promotions immediately at: Tullamorepanto@gmail.com
Hot on the heels of the sell-out production of 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' in Esker Arts Centre in September which was brought to local audiences by Colin Hughes Promotions, the hugely-talented Tullamore man is also behind the drive to being an annual panto to audiences in his own town without them having to make the trip to Dublin. 'Jack and the Beanstalk' will be the third annual panto to be directed by Colin in Tullamore, with the script being written jointly by Colin and another hugely talented member of Tullamore Musical Society, Mullingar's Chris Corroon.
Colin Hughes comes from a Tullamore family who have a long association with musical theatre with his late father, Brian, being a stalwart member of Tullamore Musical Society over many decades during which he played numerous memorable roles on stage.
Colin has also played many memorable roles with Tullamore Musical Society in the past, and has enjoyed huge success on the national stage by starring in pantos at The Helix in Dublin for over 14 years.
He is due to present a schools edition of the multi-award winning musical, Les Miserables, in the Esker Arts Centre next year, which is open to secondary school students from right across the Midlands. Rehearsals for the ambitious production began in the middle of last month, with the musical due to be staged from March 9 to 14, 2026.
