‘Singing barber’ set to star in local Christmas concert

Colin Kenny, the 'Singing Barber' from Banagher who is fast making a name for himself on the country music scene, is set to make an appearance at the ever-popular Christmas Country Concert Tour, which makes its annual seasonal stop in Tullamore on Thursday, December 20.

The concert, which takes place in the Court Hotel, and is organised by Brian Cunningham in association with Midlands 103, Guy Clothing, and KODE, has become one of the most anticipated musical nights of the year in the Midlands. Legendary country music figures, including Philomena Begley, Ray Lynam, and Dominic Kirwan, will all be on stage to add their own unique touch to the evening’s festive feel again this year.

Colin Kenny is sure to be a very popular guest, and his voice has definitely been in golden form recently as his latest single, ‘I’m A Country Singer’, has been rapidly travelling up the charts.

“This is the third year in a row that Brian has been kind enough to extend an invitation to me to join him and the show in Tullamore, and it’s an honour to accept that invite. And really, what a pleasure it’s going to be for me to be a part of this line-up, too. When you look at the artists performing you know you’re in for a special kind of a night..it's going to be an amazing night.”

Colin continued, “The mix of artists at these shows each year always has a very warm, welcoming feel about it, and I think the audience can always sense that too, and the Court Hotel is one of the most professional venues there is.”

Tickets for the Tullamore show are available now from the Court Hotel reception. Doors open at 7.30, show begins at 8pm. Please note that seating is unreserved. Artists taking part are Ray Lynam, Philomena Begley, Dominic Kirwan, Louise Morrissey, Kathy Durkin, Colm Kirwan, Barry Kirwan, Stacey Breen, Aidan Quinn, Chrissy Mac, and a special guest appearance from Colin Kenny.
