Kilbeggan firm to double workforce

A Kilbeggan-based healthcare company is set to more than double its workforce after it signed a €10 million deal with Europe's leading international private provider of emergency services.

Critical Healthcare, which has a facility employing 22 people in the Aghamore Industrial Estate in Kilbeggan, signed a deal with Danish company, Falck, which is expected to lead to the creation of 30 new jobs over the next five years.

The announcement was made by Minister of State for European Affairs, Helen McEntee, at a St. Patrick's Day reception hosted by the Irish Embassy in Copehagen, over the weekend.

Critical Healthcare was founded in Kilbeggan 18 years ago by Seamus Reilly and Dr. Anne Cusack and provides innovative solutions for inefficient procurement and stock management processes using its award-winning procurement platform called Medlogistix.

As a result of the €10m deal with Falck, the Kilbeggan-based company will now be rolling out Medlogistix across four countries – Denmark, the UK, Germany and Spain.

The deal is estimated to be worth up to €2 million per year over a five year period, and will increase Critical Healthcare's expert sales from just 1% of its business three years ago to 60% in two years' time.
